Essays like this always fascinate me, both because you are a truly amazing person and because such essays illuminate how very different your wants and needs are from my own. As a timid person who would be most content in the rather archetypal role of housewife-who-dabbles-as-a-writer and as a general homemaker for brilliant and quirky people, I am impressed and moved by both the way you live your life and by the powerful (and largely alien to me) desires that motivate you. Then again, my new beloved Alice is teaching me to love travel, change, and constructive chaos in a way that I never have before, so perhaps I will learn similar feelings.
