Having been to both Quebec and Paris and making attempt pass off my bad french, I have to say that Paris is definitely worth the trip. For one, the French are pleased as punch, and pretty nice to you if you make any attempt to speak the language. Also, the Quebecois have a peculiar accent which makes them difficult to understand if you're a textbook French student. I think you'll find you can pick up more of what people are saying if you're in Paris, and they are less likely to become annoyed and switch to English on you when you do speak if you're unsure.
