Today was another Wachovia morning. Between running into my neighbor and my roomie's sister, a man came up to us, wearing a Kerry-Edwards pin and said he'd go to Wachovia if we voted for Kerry-Edwards.

"Of course," I said.

"No, it's really important," he said.

"I know."

"If these guys get four more years they'll destroy us."

"I know."

"I have a twenty year old son. I don't want him to die for these assholes," he said putting his fist to his heart and biting his lip.

"I _know_."

I know.

Oh. God.

That's intesely sad in a really . . . intensely intense way.

Oh, God. I have a 12 year old son and a 17 year old nephew. I don't want to see them come home in body bags for the greater glory of Haliburton.

My favorite nephew -- the one I think you've met -- will be 23 this year. I am scared, too.
