nothing in particular

Through some miracle, my voter registration actually got in on time, and I will be able to vote in this election. They sent me two duplicate notices to inform me of such (but I checked, and they have a single registration number so all is well).

I am amusing myself by looking at uniform coats on some British museum site thingy.

I've just done another BPAL order -- La Petit Mort (again, I am not responsible for their bad French) and Dana O'Shee.

I am getting all the copious funds I am owed from my job on Monday. Meaning I can pick up the new and desperately needed order of headshots tomorrow.

I am investigating where I'm going to get my Regency corset from (because I'm sorry, I am a decent sewer, but there is no way I am that good or even wish to be that good).

That's really all. Useful things and responses to emails later.

Yeah man, no shit. If I could tailor, as opposed to sew, I'd be very happily engrossed in some very long term projects, but the reality is structured garments and my needle and thread have yet to have a friendly or productive meeting.

*sigh*

I don't sew, but one of my wives is a grad from FIT (there in your town) and has "mad theatrical/fashion costuming designer skillz(tm)" . . . but will she make something like this for me? Noooooooooooooooooooooo.

Sigh, maybe I'll get something chewy for Ren Fest next year, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm stunned that I've received mine as well. I thought it would be too late or that it was lost in the mail because I heard nothing for so long.

It felt strange, declaring a party affiliation. Our family is so violently Republican. Another string severed.

I still, irrationally, can't bring myself to register with a party, because it was discouraged in J-school and as a working journalist.

i can highly and personally reccomend Yosa.. she is not cheap, but a steal considering the quality and beauty of her work. she'll also do pretty much anything you can think of.

Not sure if they offer much in the way of Regency, but I have nothing but good to say about Gallery Serpentine. I love my corset, and as they are AU$, the exchange rate rules.
