How is it that Regency House Party is in fact the trashiest thing on television?

Yay! I am looking forward to watching the second night of it. Trashy!

Soooo trashy.

I won't spoil it for you, but it basically confirms all our first impressions of people in terms of who is a cad, who's a whiner and so forth. In fact the only likeable people on the whole thing seem to be the countess (who isn't likeable so much as not unlikeable), the naval captain and the hermit.

The term is 'ribald.' Oh so ribald. . .

I watched, combined, maybe ten minutes of it.

I couldn't seem to manage to be interested, unfortunately.

Well, if you're not completely into the period, it's a bit boring, in large part because the people in it are not good sports. The men seem to see it as an opportunity to drink, complain about not getting laid and worry about the size of their package while demonstrating abyssmal skill at things involving swords and guns, while the women see it entirely as an exercise in whining. The people are rather unlikeable with few exceptions and they can't bloody dance.
