Holy crap the Alexander reviews are bad. Like I haven't seen reviews this bad since Chronicles of Riddick. Kat told me someone actually compared the film disfavourably to Heaven's Gate! What's interesting is that amongst all the "this is so awful" is a lot of whining about the gay. Conservative groups will no doubt be rejoicing at this, and if the film does manage to flop will atribute it to American's good moral values as opposed to vague common sense about film quality. Seeing it tonight. Imagine I'll be whispering "hold me I'm scared" to friends over the awfulness of it. I mean, apparently Jared Leto gives the only credible performance? How does that work out?

Great Rottentomatoes page. Some of it is really funny: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/alexander/

"Oliver Stone doesn't just create trainwrecks. He knocks the train off the rails, sets it on fire, then kills every person onboard. (And takes three hours to do it.)"

this one really cracked me up somehow.

I watched the Chronicles of Riddick a couple of nights ago, and really enjoyed it.

It's the best bad fun ever.

Had you seen Pitch Black (which is a much better film, but was a lot more tense to watch).

I only had a brief hope for this film. All hope died on the first trailer. I was hoping for a war flick and they gave us a romance.

I'm nerving myself; far too many of the reviews are babbling on about Rosario Dawson, and that can't be good.

Alexander *almost* made it onto my "so bad I must go see it" list but now I'm torn between it and "The Machinist"...
