That's the sort of thing that completely terrifies me. It's so hard to fathom that in this country, in this century, we have to face the reality of losing all civil liberties the second we step foot into an airport.
I'm wondering when lawsuits challenging these horrific policies will start to be filed.
It's going to take some brave people. The recent NYTimes article made it pretty clear everyone is afraid to complain for fear of being placed on the no-fly list.
This tale seems to go way beyond civil liberties and into sexual assault.
sexual assault: indeed. and given my own issues, in her place i'm not sure i would have been able to stop myself from screaming my fool head off and kicking, or just plain curling up on the floor keening in the fetal position -- and that's when they just pick you up and cart you off to gitmo, never to be seen again. fuck.
