reality

I now have plane tickets to Sydney.

I leave NYC at 6:10pm December 30.
I stop in Los Angeles (it was this or SFO, and as much as I loathe LA, I'm really glad that's where I'm stopping).
I arrive in Sydney at 8am, January 1.
Flying United.

I'll be back the night of January 24, same route in reverse.

Having one of my weird lovely senses of knowing about it all.

I wonder if they'll give you Champagne on the plane?

Damn, I'll be missing you at LAX by one day!

Eh, probably wouldn't be in the same terminal in any event.

Also, don't think I'm switching planes, which is good in terms of the luggage arriving with me.

ah, but if it had been SFO, we could have, um, waved to each other. :)

Maybe kyle can come visit me now. *snerk*

Too bad you're not stopping over in LA (at least that's what it sounds like from the above comments). I'd love to see you.

Congrats on getting plane tickets. It must seem more real to you now.

Oh man! I totally forgot there are people I like in LA! Well, I'll have to face the LA thing eventually, so you're certainly bound to see me _sometime_.

And yeah, I think my plane just stops in LA long enough for more people to board, but I'm not really sure. The itinerary is less than perfectly clear on that point, which I think is what that means.

You've signed up for United's frequent-flier program, right? 'Cause you're going to be pretty close to a free within-the-US-and-Canada roundtrip flight from those flights alone. (If you haven't, sign up now and give them your membership number when you check in.)

Oh yes. I wasn't able to do it when I bought the ticket (since I got it through Hotwire), and thought i was going to have to send in a form, but if I can do it at check in that's great. I think the hotwire ticket is elligible for FF miles (Priceline tickets aren't, which is why I avoided them, also Hotwire gave me a better fare).

W00t! This is something you've been waiting for for a long time.
