"And the crazy thing is that none of this was outlandish. I thought it would all feel outlandish. I thought it would be improbable. I thought I wouldn't know what to say or what to do or talk my way into a restaurant like this without a reservation or anything else. And it was just all so *possible*. And that's what's great, ya know, I just had an outstanding meal and an outstanding experience having that meal and it wasn't a once in a lifetime thing, and it wasn't my one nice night out in Australia, because I have been all about the $6 chicken sandwiches, let me tell you...No. It was just practice. Or it was just ordinary. And, ya know, it's always what I've been about. I write about things that people think are astounding and ultimately aren't for any of us.
Um, so anyway, I'm really happy and I feel really fortunate tonight and I'm being bizarrely emotional, um, probably less to do with what I'm drinking than you might think.
And, um, no, I'm on George Street in the central business district and it's not really that late and, um, I have lines to learn and should really go get a bus and go home. Um. But I'm going to make sure I do this one again before I leave. Because um, ya know, it's a miracle. It's just a miracle."
