DId you work on Manchurian too, or is this just something she does?

Around seventeen years ago she was trying to get the part of Evita for the film. My father was working on financing for a deal that fell through in regards to the project. At this point, I'm going to guess it's just something she does.

What did you do for Manchurian? It was at the end of the day a mediocre thriller (Frank and Angela's version rocking the house) but she was simply brilliant.

I did background work on the political convention scene. It was horribly cold (it was shot during an ice storm and we weren't allowed to bring our coats with us from holding across the street) and the last thing that got shot on the project. People were seriously punchy, the background people were really trying as a whole (there were over 700) and everyone was pretty much trying to keep it together. At one point during a break in filming, she went to the edge of the balcony she's on int hat scene and randomly started singing Don't Cry for Me, Argentina for the assembled masses.

Thanks. It's old enough now that I'm not pathologically embarassed by it, as I was when it was only about 5 years old (as opposed to 13)

Actually, I have done this. NPR, no less.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-02-22 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
inquiring minds....?

[identity profile] alterjess.livejournal.com 2005-02-22 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
During one of the mega-heat waves a couple years ago, I was at the Russian-Turkish baths on 10th street, and NPR came down to interview people. I was on Morning Edition the next day. (Essentially, Q: It's a million degrees outside. What the hell are you doing in a sauna? A: Sweating naked in a sauna feels good. Sweating outside with my clothes on, nsm.)

Somehow the 'rabid chihuahua' one clinches my dorky crush on you more than any of the other ones (though Budgie AND Debiie Harry, *swoon*).

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-02-22 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! The chihuahuas are my personal favourite too.

Budgie and Siouxsie, btw -- very short, very nice, very adorable

Convinced someone that wild, rabid chihuahuas infest the streets of NYC

Not technically....
