Mar. 3rd, 2005 12:50 amI read a review of a book in the SMH that I want to read, but it's not available in this country. I'm sure I can find some way to order it, but it struck me as odd, as if Australia is, among other things, this nation of novels (although this book is a biogrpahy) that no one here will ever hear of.
The Sunburnt Cow doesn't serve sausage rolls anymore, but I can order up a batch to pick up, so I think I will, and freeze them. It's funny, I wasn't over keen on the sausage rolls when I was there, although I ate them often enough in the name of convenience and cheapness, and the fact that they were so specifically Australia. As a Sicilian, they were just _weak_ as far as I was concerned at first, but in time they becamse the thing that reminded me, like the water and all the ever so slightly Asian eyes, of where I was. So I am pleased.
I have an audition for a cleaning product commercial tomorrow.
