political moment

From many many people on my flist:

Kraft Foods is publically supporting the 2006 Gay Games, and are currently receiving a barrage of what I gather to be pretty hostile phone calls about this -- not just opposing this move and threatening to boycott Kraft, but real unpleasant too (because golly gee, they sure are relieved to be getting supportive calls).

If you want to call Kraft and register your support of their support the number is: 1 (800) 323-0768.
They will ask for stuff like your name, city, phone and address and whether you want to be on their mailing list. Those of you with privacy concerns surely are clever enough to figure out how to address them.

All they asked me for was my name, and he specified "if I was comfortable with that," and my zip code. But the glee in his voice when I said I was calling to thank them was utterly palpable.

Thanks for passing this one along.

Thanks for posting this. I'll be posting this in my journals as well.

Just called. Chick was very happy. Feel all virtuous and all.

The woman who answered the phone when I called was completely unenthused and made it extremely obvious she was reading from a script. But she took down my name and address anyway, so whatever.
