We're watching Willy Wonka here and I confess to never having seen more of it than a scene or two (involving oompaloompas). I read it as a child, but the movie is seriously bizarre, macabre and and and...

gah! Just... I see why I did not understand and I see why I do now, and I am afraided. ;)

That was one terrifying movie. I actually felt sorry for Veruca Salt and those awful little bastards.

I rewatched it a few years ago and completely agree, that's one disturbing and disturbed film.

And it's fun to watch Wilder going absolutely ape nuts with it. I swear after seeing it I never looked at him the same way again.

I rather wish he'd done more roles like this.

Yes, that was one scary film! I particularly disliked those moralistic umpa-lumpas! Nasty!
