things that make no sense

There's a Gristedes on 81st and East End that has Anzac biscuits. What the hell? And the money goes to American veterans, so I guess they make 'em here now too, but they're still called Anzac biscuits. totally weird.

There's a blurb in this past week's PARADE magazine about it. Says: "Starting this month and through the summer, Unibic cookies will be sold in U.S. supermarkets to benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars. They actually are [sic] baked in Australia, one of our longtime allies, and are based on a recipe that was made popular by Australian and New Zealand women to support their troops overseas."

OKay, thank you so much for explaining. The punchline is that it's still cheaper for me to order the fuckers from Oz.
