One ofthe awesome things about LJ, and having a large friends list on LJ is everyone knows a lot about something.

I am going through one of those things again where I want to do something difficult for the sake of doing it. I've no idea what that is, but I get like this sometimes. Of course, since cleaning my room is difficult for me, I could just like, go be productive, but that's not what I mean.

Take up spinning?

I say spinning, and not knitting, because spinning is a more of a zen sort of thing and probably more up your alley; it's also possible to do on a budget (spindles can be made for under $5; roving varies). Let me know if it sounds at all interesting to you - jadegirl, a fellow NYCer & spinner, is probably a good resource as far as locating roving sources near you, etc.

classical (not stage or sport) fencing. that'll keep you busy. a bit of an expense and a lot of commitment, to be sure, but i can't think of anything that would be more suitable.
