My day job has been inordinately stressful over the last week because of a tight deadline. Today is the last day we have to meet that deadline and it looks like we're going to make it, thank god.

I also have an audition today, and will be mailing out one of my plays. I am still tweaking the second one, but I made significant progress on it last night. I'm very happy with the one that is going out today though. I'm nearly floored that I could have created it.

Tonight I have to bake Rennaissance-era cookies for the event I am going to tomorrow. We still have room left should anyone feel the sudden need to spend an entire day leaning about Renaissance dance and fencing. No experience necessary, no costumes required, practice weapons available for those without and all for only $10 and easily accessible via MetroNorth, details here: http://www.elegantarts.org/caroso/

Someone has created an [livejournal.com profile] australianactor community for the industry there. I joined it, and explained my deal (well, you know, as much as I ever do) and will now promptly shut the hell up, but it pleases me. I think I've been so crazy about Sydney lately because of the heat here.

[livejournal.com profile] kalichan has returned but I think is still recovering from the flight, the trip and her academic load prior to that. I'm hoping she comes up for air by early next week.

[livejournal.com profile] ksp24 has been posting some pictures of Paris that are quite worthwhile. I, however, am having an all-about-the-typeface moment with the most recent batch.

And Rob Bresnzy, as per usual, seems to be playing catch up with me. I've been trying to blow up comets for a while now. http://www.freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/libra.html

And while I knew, more or less, what this sentence was about, I can't stop being stunned by it, but I haven't actually figured out what to do with it yet: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ekatarina/332357.html

Good/entertaining crazy - he's always out at the pub and plays African drums very seriously. Occasionally extremely confused by American culture.

They think we're sooooooooooo agressive. Not in a world politics way, just -- sometimes they're very impressed and sometimes they think we're hideously rude. I think to a given degree that their love/hate thng with peopel who are really sucessful there mirrors it -- they don't like what people have to do to succeed, but they're willing to be awed by the results.

*nods*

Well, we are hideously rude, aren't we? When I think of the US, I can't help of thinking of a hamburger.

The things about us they think are rude are very different than the thing most of the rest of the world would choose though. It makes things strange.
