London london london. I'm not articulate enough to say much right now. Other than is often the way, I heard first from LJ, and panicked that it was some sort of nuclear event, something I no longer even feel capable of blaming on being a child of the 80s.
As for my own particular state of being, it'll heal.

Date: 2005-07-07 02:33 pm (UTC)The thing about terror attacks ( and I'd like your opinion on this ) is that conventional explosive attacks keeps the bar where it is. Using a nuclear device of any size in an attack like this would likely raise the bar and probably lead to a similar retaliation. I can't say I believe that 100% because of the current political enviroment - but it's not out of the question. I like ot think this is why we have not seen biological or chemical attacks as well. this is not to say that the bad guys(tm) are not equiped to do so , but just know that if they blow up a few things with conventional explosives it's business as usual. If they raise the bar it will be an all out hunt for them - not only by government but by people on the street as well.
Thoughts ?

Date: 2005-07-07 03:40 pm (UTC)next week (at the same time, no less) I'm due to go on one of the trains that was bombed. It is an irrational reaction, I know, but you can't help but think "What if it had have happened a week later?".
Terror is right.
