(no subject)

We have testing today at work. We haven't had testing in over a year, although we're supposed to have it more frequently. I find it makes me anxious, and I was never a nervous test-taker. I suspect it's because so much is unpredictable about my work environment I don't trust the matter to be straight-forward.

Kali has just sent me the latest bit of Decensus and it's the funniest thing I've ever read. EVER.

I am working that commercial tomorrow, but I don't even know what it's for. I suppose when I get the call information tonight it will become clearer. It seems to be non-union, as all that usual information that gets collected from me when I do waivered work wasn't. The pay is decent though, and I don't know if it's even a union product where there is a potential for a waiver.

Meanwhile my L&O check came in, but the money from the two nights work I did on that commercial still remain AWOL, which is annoying.

This year's Regency dress pattern has also arrived, and is definitely more complicated than last years. I am debating the wisdom of the dupioni idea, only because keeping track of the grain of the fabric adds another complication (although I had that same complication last year with the yellow brocade -- I just remember it made me insane).

On Sunday I am going to the beach, but must return early to go to a second meeting about a project I may be in at P.S. 122.

I also may do CinemaSports on Saturday morning before work.

Blessedly, I have nothing to do after work today, for the first time in ages.

I've noticed a tremendous number of hits lately on my website from the whois server, which seems odd to me in the extreme.

Do you like the beach?

What do you do there?

I like the beach very much. Well, I like being near water, and despite living on Manhattan island, it's the only way. That's one of the things I miss most about Sydney is the water's integration into daily life. I wade about in the ocean a bit (I only swim in pools, because well, fish are slimy), and read and eat random food.

Which whois server? That is unusual - uless it's one of those 3rd party whois servers that acts as a gobetween to one of the big 5.

Do you have a robots.txt file on your web site ?

I want robots to visit my website, as it needs to be searchable, more later, I can't look at my stats from here.

You can fine tune the file - it's not an all or nothing deal.
