argh!

I just bit into a severely undercooked McNugget. I spit it out and didn't swallow any of it, but am I going to get food poisoning now?

I'm in a bit of a panic here.

No, but the taste is never going to get out of your mouth.

Bah! Sorry to hear it.

Ever!

No, you're not going to get food poisoning. Yuck, though. Rinse your mouth.

I took a sip of juice, and then thought of this. Now of course I feel totally ill, but it's obviously mental.

aie

So...

Now I hope you'll stop going to McDonalds?

Ugh yeah! I hardly ever do it. Like a few times a year, but ugh ugh ugh.

[identity profile] who-is-she.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I dont think you'll get food poisoning. I know you said you only go there a couple times a year, but even so, I'd tell them.

bad food handling/cooking practices, to be sure

[identity profile] rothko.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
aren't they precooked and stuff? you'll probably be fine but ew ew ew ew ew!!!!

[identity profile] warhol.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I wondered the same thing, so I asked Google how Chicken McNuggets are made. I so wish I hadn't.

But yeah, they are supposely precooked at some point -- maybe twice, if you count what it takes to get the 'meat' off the bones.

The innards were still pink and icy, man.

[identity profile] warhol.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not disputing your observation, at all. I'm just trying to use some disinformation found on the web to try to give you the false hope that maybe it was somehow preprocessed just enough to kill off anything.

I had mushy salmon at a restaurant about six months ago, and I didn't get sick. Have faith in your stomach acid.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but like, peopel eat Salmon raw all the time. Sushi!

[identity profile] orien.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
heh. When it's handled properly to be eaten raw.

If it'll sooth your mind, have a shot of something strong, vodka or jaeger, just to help with the internal disinfection. The odds of that small exposure having enough of a bacteria load to overwhelm a competent immune system are ...I wouldn't bet on being able to grow some bad bacteria in culture from swabbing your mouth, even IF that particular piece was actually infected. Ok? But have the drink anyway - it'll at least get the taste out.

[identity profile] graene.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Replying to myself, uhm, yeah, but your peace of mind and all that.

I mean, you lick the bowl with raw eggs in the batter when baking, right? So you've developed some immunity there. Ok?

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent point, although drinking at the office is still funny.

[identity profile] delchi.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I am trying my best to construct an image of you drinking a shot of Jager. Sadly, even my advanced VR system can't produce that. Oddly , all it did was give me a 216 digit number then it crashed. :)

Aside, this is the stuff that lawsuits are made of.
