In which I am harassed for being a Jew
Oct. 15th, 2005 05:59 pmFor the record, I've had people say antisemitic things to me before, but like, conversationally. You know. "Oh, you're such a Jew" or some bizarre inaccurate assesment about Jews thinking I wasn't one. But never with anger. Just stupid superiority, which is what most people do about all sorts of people all the time. I'm not saying it's not bad, I'm jsut saying it's unremarkable. common, and not even very alarming.
I've never had anyone just scream at me, "You Jew!" as if I needed no insults, as I was already the worst thing a person could already be.
I suppose I'll eventually find this illuminating.

You may have told me when I was drunk, and I therefore didn't remember, but if I haven't given you my speech on how I'm a Jew groupie (love the food, and know the wine blessing/a few seder songs) then it's safe to say I didn't know.
...that said, you ever make any jewish food and I'll yip at your door like a park avenue puppy.
