this is a little creepy

Although I'm glad I've not lost my mind; I mean, unless it's chemical warfare or something:

Holy shit -- ME TOO and I'm in FUCKING Brooklyn for fuck's sake. I thought I was having a goddamn SEIZURE.

Are we creeped out yet? I'm creeped out.

I'm in Brooklyn too, and I thought it was our radiators (finally got the heat turned on today).

Fucking creepy.

And I smelled it at Barnard this morning, too, now that I think about it -- 116th Street and Broadway. To me it smells like those sweet italian sausages?

I'm so creeped out. What the hell, I seriously thought I was losing my mind. No less creeped out now that I know it is a GIANT SAUSAGE CONSPIRACY, but at least I'm not alone.

How weird. How completely weird.

I posted this in [livejournal.com profile] newyorkers too, but I just called 311 about it, and they connected me to 911, who connected me to the fire department, who said they've been getting calls all night about this, and that it's all over the city, but they don't know what's causing it.

So we're not crazy, but we are clueless.

i didn't smell a thing, but i was in Queens at Vernon-Jackson. Also did not get out of work until way late.

It's a bit early for the anniversary of the Boston Molasses Disaster.

I think that the smell of pancakes would be nicer, although butter would clearly be worse.

Sometimes there are scents added to natural gas in order to detect leaks, as it has no natural smell. Maybe that ?

Different smell. This is nearly idenitcal to maple syrup, but just an edge of rot.

I was up on 33rd and 3rd Ave. and smelled it. It's like a cross between maple syrup and cinnamon doughnuts.

You know what that shit smells like? A certain kind of fog machine smoke; if the Across the Universe crew somehow did that, I would be disconcerted, to say the least.

Well, it would keep with my "Julie Taymor is Voldemort" theory.
