I just got woken up by the worst cramps. I can't fall back asleep, I can barely even lie still, I have to get up for work in three hours, but the main part -- there are no painkillers in the house and there are no 24 bodegas up here. All I can do is wrap myself in a blanket and pace until something opens up here. This sucks.

My deep condolences. I had an attack of cramps in the midst of Thanksgiving dinner, but apparently enough turkey adn alcohol shut them up.

Back in the bad old days, if nothing else worked, either a hot bath or a couple of stiff drinks was my preferred method. Both are muscle relaxants, and usually in the house.

Hope today is better.
