yikes

I've been listening to the Hedningarna so much I'm starting to recognize specific words and phrases and know what they mean, which wasn't totally alarming to me (as I listen to it constantly), until I started listening to the snippets of the other albums on Amazon, and was more than a little startled. Nicely, many of the albums are available used for very little via Amazon, so I may actually be able to pick one or two up despite IRS/root canals. Of course, Amazon being what it is, everything links to everything else, so now I'm wandering through all sorts of weird Scandanavian music as I wait for Kali to come pick me up at the office. And there's this minuet on an album Sjofa by some band called Gjallarhorn, that I must have. There's a fabulous interconnected circling of obsessions in all of this too, and we all know how into my own fucking knotted up ball of yarn I am.

Mmmm. Goblins. If this stuff were on the jukebox at Molly's my life (and nearly no one else's) would be perfect.

I wonder if you would like R7, the (so far) only album put out by Susanne Rosenberg's voice/string group, the Rosenberg Seven. It's one of my favorite albums ever. Not at all electronic, but so beautiful and rich and multilayered. If you want I can burn you a copy.

Would you be willing to pass me some of the goblin music through Sola? I like the samples I'm going through on itunes.

This may, in fact, call for an all Scandinavian music mix. Hm-hm! {gears churning}
