The Oscars sucked, everyone seems to agree on that and not on the why. I'll probably write a tirade on it myself but I want it to be really cogent and fabulous and I've not the time or energy today, and probably not for a few days.

Tomorrow (technically today I guess) I am seeing Hedda gabler at BAM. Wheee.

wednesday doing background on a film. It's outside, and this always fills me with dread, but I just have to keep telling myself it's baby steps to pension credits.

My fabulous shampoos have shipped and should be here soon.

And now my achey tired self is nearly off to bed. If not Descensus in a few moments, then definitely in the morning. We're just doing last looks.

I am astonished that people could think this year's Oscars sucked. I thought they were the best they've been in years. I mean, all the unnecessary montages were ridiculous, and the musical numbers were silly. But I liked Stewart, and more than that, it just felt like the goofiest year ever. Stuffed penguins, and a thank-you speech beginning with a phrase in "penguin-speak"! Fake commercials! Little bow-ties for the Oscar statuettes! Ben Stiller acting like a total imbecile! "I want to thank the Academy for seating me next to George Clooney"! "I do all my own stunts"! I thought all the humor really took the pomposity and dullness out of the show, and for the most part, I really enjoyed it all.
