i am imagining a cross between medieval fare, with big roasted things and root vegetables, and haute cuisine francaise. some incongruous, yet unspeakably graceful, meeting of delicate and heavy fare...

Well, this all started because there's a dinner party coming up a few chapters hence, and we had talked about the food details before,but then there was a dessert issue that came up last night (that's too fabulous to spoil), and I think we're going to try to actually concoct the thing.
