Today was so insane. But there's not much I can say without being a horrible gossip.

So, more random AC. THis repurposed from content you may all remember -- how to avoid looking like a tourist in NYC:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/30151/how_to_avoid_looking_like_a_tourist.html

I also have a list of some 40 article ideas I will post later to use as reference for myself and slowly cross off as I do them all. If that starts tonigh remains to be seen though -- I'm beat.

Do you happen to have a tutorial on how to use the subway without being a jackass, or how to correctly operate an umbrella? I recommend both, if not.

Even the locals don't know how to ride the bus without being a jackass, so I doubt it's worth the effort -- apparently, we quickly learn how to move inside the subway cars, but no one can move to the back of the bus. Ever.

That's such a cool link :)

I had forgotten about the shorts thing until I visited my brother in SoCal.

Then I remembered that shorts and a t-shirt are considered appropriate and indeed, quite normal garb for all social activities and nearly all dining establishments among white members of the middle class in that area.

I'll have to remember to remind my family if they ever bother to come out to visit that the only men who wear shorts in this city are extremely gay, extremely built, and extremely good looking so its just not worth it.

So how well is this working for you? Are they actually paying oyu for any of these? And do you still own the copyright?

You have a choice to sell articles exclosively or non-eclusively. You get a bit more for exclusives, but it doesn't make a huge amount of difference. What does make a huge amount of difference is you need to write with Google's Ad Sense in mind -- lots of key words, very few "it"'s and "that"'s. I'm a fast writer, so I can make about $20 - $25/hour for the time I put in on the site if I'm feeling diligent.

*whew* I think I did it all correctly when I was there.

Typos?

Because I spent way too many years as a proofreader, I tend to see these. Do you want me to send 'em your way, or would that be annoying?

Unfortunately, once things are published, they can't be corrected, which is making me INSANE. When, and if that changes (something everyone is making noise about), I will absolutely revisit this offer.

Wow! I can't imagine what they're thinking, not allowing corrections as a matter of course. I'm happy to help out if that changes. :)

Excellent timing

Thank you! Although you've been here enough times now you probably know what you're doing.

I feel pretty confident now. Still, I just appreciate that piece and enjoy revisiting it. It's useful and I love your style.
