When the doorbell rings on a Saturday morning, I tend to think it's the Jehova's Witnesses, not the city housing inspector.

I have so never had that experience before.

We don't have those here (city housing inspectors, I mean, we have plenty of JWs). What do they do and do they stay long? How rude not to call first.

They check buildings with violations. The guy wanted to see ifI have a light fixture in my bedroom and if there was mold in our bathroom. It was annoying and made no sense.
