For the first time in _days_ I got more than four hours of sleep last night. It was waaaaay not enough.

I am making progress making the new cell phone how I want -- my default image is the Sydney Harbour Bridge at night. All my menu screens are green, 80% of the phone numbers that should be in there are; I've relocated most of the ringers I've had and changed a few. I've downloaded the games I like. In fact, everything is cool, except there is only one alarm to set, not 3, and it's yet to suceed in waking me up. I hope that's just because I'm so fucking tired. This is a real problem in terms of the weird hours I have to keep for movies. Hopefully a Thursday booking will come through today.

Last night, more progress made on the most obscene HP thing I've written since aCE. It may also be more obscene; I'm not sure yet. It sort of depends on how you feel about certain kinks I suppose. It is Descensus and the mechanism by with the insanity happens is entirely Kali's fault. I'm sure more of it will be as well by the time it is done.

In my effort not to be more misanthropic than is actually appropriate to my nature, I've been keeping up on my email in a way I usually don't. It's sort of nice. Now I'm just waiting for people to email me. Anyone know if there is anything major on the SCA front going on right now? As I haven't heard from someone I realize, I really do want to hear from, and may have to seriously nag.

Had some contaminated food at least once over the weekend, but for the first time have figured out what to do immediately when the symptoms hit so neither my stomach nor my mood suffers too badly. This is good.

Anyone know if there is anything major on the SCA front going on right now?

If by this you mean the Society for Creative Anachronism, I think there are some dance and fighter practices going on, but in general, everyone's gearing up for Pennsic. I should be doing this as well, but I need to survive the San Diego Comic Con first. ;)

Are you going to Pennsic?

No, I've only been once, and I really want to go again, eventhough it's not really my time period of choice. Mainly I ask, because I wrote an email to someone in my past and haven't heard from him... which could be any number of things, but he's very SCA involved, so I was figuring it might be that, as opposed to being all "buh?" about it. No worries either way.

Nope. It's unlikely. Although it would also be a pretty hilarious irony that wouldn't surprise me if you did.

coyotegoth and I both have the uncanny knack of knowing people in a wide variety of locations and of a wide variety of affiliations.

For example, through sheer happenstance*, most of the people I know in the SCA are from Cleveland.

*And by "happenstance," I mean where I ended up partying during my first Pennsic.

Yeah. This is someone who was from the DC area, and last I heard, is again, and yeah, I know him because his group was my neighbor at my one Pennsic and helped us out in a terrifying storm (someone got hit by lightening at my Pennsic).

Please tell me what your immediate strategy is.
