dear friends

These are pictures from last year's Regency ball. You've seen some of these before, perhaps, but one of our members did a beautiful job cleaning them up with photoshop, so they look really good now. I am in throes of hysterics over the caption on the pic of Kali and I, however. "Dear friends", which isn't funny because of the relationship status thing, but because every time we passed each other in a dance that entire night, one of us would mutter something or other about this wizard or that wizard wanting to murder some other wizard. In fact, i think we spent most of the night planning fictional murders, right up until the Nelson toast got handed to me and I had to come up with something good, fast.

I am tickled.

Oooo are we having a small world theatre moment? I love his shiny shiny shoes, but he hardly ever comes to class or events.

We are, but it was one I knew we'd have, because he was my entree into Regency Dancing. He was also my "vanilla boy" for a while until he turned into my "platonic boy" because although I adore him I don't adore him in a prurient way. More of a beating him over the head with pillows and running away cackling maniacly like a 6 year old way. Fortunately, this sort of way seems to be working well for both of us. Last year, at Arisia, I gave him a Hideous Paisely Monkey, which just solidified the silliness. He's good folks. And he does have VERY shiny shoes. And way too many tuxes for a young man of his age :)

Look! It's excessive exposition girl!
