I'm tired (WHY did I wake up before my alarm?), so this won't be near so long as it could be.

Michael used to ask me to keep secrets, by and large for no reason I could discern. I think, in part, we were just radically different people about stuff, but I also think there was a lot of drama about fear and control -- not in a big sinister way, but just you know two people being incompetent together. Largely, I've always hated to keep secrets, not out of anything moral, it's just my nature. If it's important or big and you ask, I do. But if it involves me and I don't see how it could mess with someone else, I pretty much don't.

It is, in many ways, the best indication that I never got to be a small girl because until very recently, I never understood that "sometimes, secrets are just fun" and like a coin rubbed down for luck between thumb and forefinger.

Oh, I woke up early because I have the most blinding menstrual cramps. In the rock paper scissors thing that is cramps hangover exhaustion, cramps beats hangover. For you Dave Barry fans though, I can assure you that crab still eats scissors though.

I've always been like that myself. Important or big secrets are fine, but secrecy for it's own sake has alway baffled and vaguely annoyed me.

Also, everyone knows that the most fun part of keeping secrets, especially for small girls, is hinting around that you have them.
Doing this without actually spilling them, however, takes practice.
