Heaven help the next person who rings my land-line. That's all I'm saying about that.

I forgot to mention that yesterday I found the perfect grey shorts for my "Hogwarts uniform Bermuda shorts" idea for Phoenix Rising. At Joyce Leslie (of all the sins, I know). This whole thing is hurting my brain it's so cute.

I'll gt to work, my paycheck will be there, I'll see how awful the health insurance ding is, I'll pay my bills and then I will order the next book I need for Jaida's bookclub thing, as well as the newer Franz Ferdinand CD and some gluten-free stuff that costs half on Amazon what it does in Whole Foods.

Yesterday I found the website of the guy who did my first two (but unfortunately not my third, which has faded badly) tattoos. He's moved from having his own shop downtown, to working for someone else to having his own shop out in Brooklyn. But I'm really glad to have located him again, and once I finish the design up, hopefully this week, I can at least email him for a price quote so I can start thinking about it.

Regency clothes woman said she was going to put some of my outfit in the mail on Monday, and some of it next week. I wonder if that means things will be arriving today. I've sent her email but haven't heard back, which is marginally stressful, but you know, that was just yesterday and time difference and all. (ETA: Complete order going out today, should be here by my birthday).

Also, people, if you repeat back to me something I said about _myself_ directly to you, it's not gossip. Way to be weird.

What do you get through Amazon? I've been ordering most of my food, anyway.

Raw Revolution bars. They are delicious, but they only sell them by the case. I note this, because they are very high on teh fiber content in a way that give some people trouble. That said, they are $2 a pop in shops, but on Amazon a case of 12 is $13.50.

What foods are you ordering, btw? We should compare notes.

I've been ordering from this place. They don't tell you their shipping when you order, but you get charged the actual shipping instead of an inflated price.

I've taken a lot of their Cornito pasta off of their hands, which is so cheap because it's expired, but it tastes fine, and I have used them to buy a lot of soup so that I don't have to carry it home. I enjoy the Shelton's chicken chili and chicken tortilla soup, particularly, and the lentil and potato Amy's soups. And things like crackers and cookies, which I am still test driving until I find something I actually like. The Glutino crackers taste weird to me, rather baking soda-ish, and for some reason, the cat sticks his entire head in the bag, so there's definitely something weird about them. Mary's Gone Crackers are okay. I completely hate the Mesa Sunrise cereal. I really like Enjoy Life's snickerdoodle cookies. Kinnickinnick's pancake mix is good. I will probably try their bread mix at some point.

Do you sleep better, now, or more? Insomnia and broken sleep are part of fibro, so the improved sleep may be related to the GF helping (I am hesitant to say "fixed" lest it blow up on me) the fibro, but not being a raging insomniac is fucking freaky.

And I have had nightmares about eating toast.

I actually sleep less (or rather, am generally less tired, as I rarely let myself get the sleep I need). For the first time in my life, I no longer need 10 hours (or more) a night to feel well. It is hard to describe how much my life has changed since figuring this out. And it continues too. I really think that you should expect to see continuing improvement for at least 6 months before it levels off.

As for cookies, check out Pamela's brand. Particularly their chocolate vanilla swirl shortbread and their chocolate chip cookies.

I've yet to find a single cracker substitute I find acceptable, and have been using somethign called "white corn strips" that I found in the tortilla chips section -- they are like really thick tortilla chips with a not too strong taste that I use for hummus and peanut butter and the like.

Van's gluten-free waffles (they're frozen, so you'd have to buy locally) have the odd distinction of being both cheap and not tasting at all different from gluten varieties. It's nice. Also for a local purchase, the gluten-free almond scones at Whole Foods are awesome.

Everybody eats is awesome. I've yet to see the snickerdoodles in a shop here, maybe I'll order some.

Glutano lemon wafers are good -- but their oreo replacement cookies are pretty mediocre. I also find mi-del's gluten-free cookies good, but they do process in a facility with wheat and while they test regularly to make sure they meet GF standards, I've had very mild contamination from them and try not to eat them often.

Generally with baked goods you want to find stuff that uses a mixture of flour (especially for things close to bread) otherwise they get a powdery texture (usually from using just rice flour).
