Oct. 4th, 2006 09:49 amToday I'm going to see Flyboys. Could I be more excited? I like war movies in general, but about WWI aircorps? How cool is that? No one does dogfight movies like that about WWI. I'm really glad Kali shares this vice with me. Later there will also be sushi with hopefully Kat.
For those of you on the friends-;list who saw last night's posts inspired by the ever increasingly ridiculous Foley thing (forget ethics, just -- not bright), I actually have a lot more to say about it, that may seem to contradict what I've already said -- but I'm busy as hell this week, and it's a dribs and drabs thing anyway.
I did register for that herbal prep class, so that is all set, and may register for some other courses at NYBG if that (and the trip to get there) seem to go well for me. They offer a number of Botany certificate programs, but of course what I'm interested in spreads across classes in two of the programs -- which is to say, I may wind up taking a lot of classes there but not have any particular comletion to work towards, other than whatever hardcore program I decide to do afterwards. They also do a few walking tours of herbal shopping and uses in various NYC ethnic neighbohoods -- mine included, but I need to find out how indepth they are as opposed to "stupid lectures for stupid white people." All of this, however, is further proof that when I saw I'm going to do something, I do it, even if iI don't necessarily do it when I say I'm going to.
I was up too late last night for there to be much to report this morning. More later.

Date: 2006-10-04 02:31 pm (UTC)However, I can recommend two things to watch. "The Blue Max" is an excellent WWI flying movie, set on the German side of things. Also there is a WONDERFUL mini-series from Britain simply titled "World War I" that is stunning. I learned SO much from it about the rest of the world's involvement in WWI.

Date: 2006-10-04 07:23 pm (UTC)I will be on hand to celebrate with you on Friday, however, I do have to get up early to be at work in Jersey at 8AM! Ugh! Big test date. Very daunting. So I don't know how long I'll be able to stay, unfortunatley.
