Would someone please tell these heathens that boys kissing is hot?

Yes, I wrote an article about how a queer James Bond is an awesome idea (yay, Daniel Craig) and people are being dolts.

I think you're SO RIGHT. I really don't understand why more characters aren't bisexual, I think it's just ridiculous. Great points. My biggest argument for it is just that Bond is so masculine and sexual, why would he be threatened in the least by the idea of being queer? I love Daniel Craig.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. I think it is EXTREMELY unlikely that a man with as much of a sex-drive as James Bond would turn down male *ahem* companionship, either as a means to an end (as with many of the women) or simply for pleasure. And, incidentally, I think guy on guy is hot, so pbbt to those people. I know women who aren't, but I have to tell you, the best kiss I've ever seen in person was a very simple, sweet kiss between two male exes who still loved each other very much (they just had too many barriers to deal with at that time). It was the sweetest, most beautiful, and in many ways sexiest kiss I have ever witnessed.

Incidentally, I think it's fabulous that Daniel Craig himself is advocating this. Most leading men shy away from playing gay or even bisexual characters for fear of losing leading man parts (because somehow that would make them seem less leading man like?). Harry Hamlin talks about that whole idea, I believe in Celluloid Closet.

On a related note, have you ever seen Tipping the Velvet? One of the lesbian characters in that is the woman playing Anne in the new Persuasion. See? WOMEN are allowed to play both...why can't men? Well, I mean, I know why, but that just confirms my belief that people are intolerant double-standard-holding morons.

Hi there!

I don't know if the world is ready for a bisexual 007, but I'd certainly support the idea. I'm no James Bond, but I am oversexed. And I would totally make out with another guy. I'd even hook up with Daniel Craig if it would get me a part in a James Bond movie. :)

Oddly, though, my own wifey is actually turned off by hot guy-on-guy action. I've offered to have a MMF threesome with her, but it squicks her out to no end. I don't get it.

!!!! Silly wifey! Which I say in an entirely non-judgemental, we all have our turn ons and turn offs way. But I do have to say it on the heels of a conversation I had a few weeks ago where a friend was _over the moon_ at her new bf expressing willingness to do the same.

Hi there!

And it's not like she's all: "OMG GAY IS GROSS!". It's just not her thing. [shrugs]

With Daniel Craig, I CAN SO SEE THIS! The others, not as much...maybe some hot man on man action is due for the Bond mythos. I agree wholeheartedly.

Omnivorous sexual Craig Bond? Bring it on! I'm curious if Daniel Craig's thoughts might have been influenced by the popularity of Captain Jack in the new Doctor Who (Does it have a pulse? Does it have a phone number?).

I would actually disagree with your point that as many woman as men are turned on by same-sex couplings of their het preference. As one of the commenters pointed out, you'll actually find more women comfortable with two women together than with any kind of m/m sexual interaction. I agree with the idea that a lot of that comes from women being the ideal of sexual beauty in our culture.

That is, of course, looking at the populace as a whole. Of which far too many are still amazingly blind, deaf and dumb to so many aspects of sexuality. They stay in their comfortable niches and don't dare look too closely at what's outside. We are the evolved freaks. Ain't it grand?
