I have a headache and two articles to write as well as some other work to do tonight, so this will be brief.

Blood Diamond is fabulous and gutting and really violent/jarring/difficult to watch. Also, about halfway through I went "oh, hey this is tructured like Lord of the Rings and Leonardo DiCaprio's character is really Boromir". I may just need a nap.

The Ellen Kushner/Naomi Novik reading was deeply fun and satisfying, and I'm half dissapointed I didn't go out to the drinky thing afterwards, but tired and headache! Kushner, btw, signs books wonderfully.
