I finished Fall of the Kings the other day (and I have a lot to say about it, probably on [livejournal.com profile] _riverside, when I have time, although I am uncertain of when that will be).

This leaves the question of what to read next. Kali got me a Guy Gavriel Kay book for Christmas, and I've never read any of his work and her book choices for me have always been excellent, but it's hardcover, and so ill-suited to subway reading (much better suited to when I am less busy and can read it in a weekend or am stranded on a set). I have The Grass Crown onhand, but with ROME starting again this weekend, that could get muddy in my head, so I think I want to wait. I could also pick up the next Kushiel book, but as much as I hated to leave that world when I finished the first one the thought of reimersing myself in that world makes me vaguely nauseated at the moment, albeit for reasons of which I am not entirely sure. Perhaps I should finally start the Temeraire books, or for rare change, give my brain some damn space.

ETA: I'm an idiot. It wouldn't kill me to gobble down a couple of the fencing texts on our recommended list.

Fionavar Tapestry? If so, read all three books. I think you will enjoy.

In my own book news, at your recommendation from a long ago post, I am reading THE PRESTIGE (after seeing the movie, something I rarely do as I am usually disappointed that I ruined the book for myself) and am THOROUGHLY enjoying it.
