I have become obsessed with Jose Gonzalez thanks to wordsofastory. It's the sort of guitar work that reminds me of the classical guitar work I did in college, before the infamous Guitar Craft tangent (that adventure still stuns me, early and often). It has a cadence of dialogue and playfulness (that is, yes, evoactive of fencing) and moodiness that's all very interesting. It's the type of music that makes one long for gentleness from the most unlikely of places.

I am thinking of joining that Novel in 90 thing, knowthing that I can't write to structure in that time, but knowing I can do the word count, and if I could just generate that much amaterial in that time I would at least have everything I need to work on and solve the damn thing. My latest feeling is that the solution to it is the way I like to move forward and backwards in time in my short pieces, and a focus on a secondary character as the way in. But I can keep having these thoughts all day long, it's still not solving the damn thing.

what's the novel in 90? it sounds like we're in a really similar storycrafting space. i'm frustrated all to hell over it and getting a lot of nothing done as a result.

It's an LJ community for something like NaNoWriMo, but it's a 90 day more mellow challenge. 750 words a day. I've always been great with character & world building and poor with plot/structure, but I think it's more a phobia of this process that anything else. I just want to get it done.

"can" and "play" are somewhat debateable. I'm pretty rusty to put it generously, but I studied classical guitar in college, and then what is most easily, but not entirely accurately, termed post-classical in Guitar Craft which is Robert Fripp's wacky guitar thing.
