So aside from the usual assortment of miscelaneous work stuff this weekend I must:

- see and review Letters from Iwo Jima (which better be better than Flags of Our Fathers which I really disliked)
- Write two other articles
- sleep more
- do laundry
- maybe go to a contra dance
- hope I can catch the season premiere of Rome, but realize I may not get to it until later in the week.

- notice fencing practice is not on here... I'm trying this as a "dance is cross training" week. I'm pretty pleasantly surprised my arms feel last night's exertions. (as an aside, holy shit, my arms! Every week there's more to be stunned by.

I also really want ot look at that whole novel in 90 thing and see if it makes even the slightest damn bit of sense for me to do. Alison gave me a gift of an observation in email ast night, "hey this sounds like the first sentence of a story." and since the thing may not ultimately be in the first person, not so much, but yes, yes in terms of the voice and character of one of the world's inhabitants, so I might see what comes of it.

I should probably update my website as well.

For me, 750 words is a half hour, at most. I write REALLY REALLY fast. the issue is I keep getting bogged odwn in structure on this thing. So I'm wondering if I should say scrap structure, comit to 750 words in teh universe/story every day and sort 'em out at the end.

I believe you absolutely should. Forget structure (remember that a certain amount of story structure is inherent in how we write anyway) and simply tell a story. Single POV if that's all you want to tackle, more if the spirit moves you, and go forth. It's like making a clay pot, you have to go and get the clay first. Think of this as a daily slog to the riverbank? Your writing is really very good. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by not simply doing it and seeing what comes out. :)

Thank you. I think also I'm suffering from this being the first thing I've ever done planning on before just seeing where it goes. I believe so strongly in the "true lives of characters" that I'm now having to deal with them in a way that seems inorganic to me. I'm so sure I know what this story is really about. I should shut the hell up and let them tell me.
