farmers market

pepper-crusted goat cheese
fresh honey
maple sugar candy (some with coconut)
apple cider

With what's in the house, this will make life very pleasant, and truthfully is closer to the way I should be eating. (I'm totally on that page with the recent NYTimes piece right now -- if your grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food, it's not food. Unfortunately, being gluten-free means more weird packaged goods than I'd prefer. I really should get over the convenience of the dinaosaur-shaped gluten-free chicken nuggets though.)

Mmmm, honey. I adore honey.

Surely you've gone to the bee folks at the Union Square market then? You can buy boxes of comb and everything.

Oh, yes. Though I was just thinking that I'm all out and should stop and buy some more when I walk by in a little while.

...My wife, it turns out, is not gluten-intolerant. She's corn-intolerant. What this means is basically, nothing our grandmothers wouldn't recognize as food is allowed in the house anyway. :) High-fructose corn syrup is in everything! The change in diet has actually made us healthier, but preparing dinner is, if possible, even more of a pain than when we thought the problem was gluten.
