hee. i'd love to see your picture at that age. he's marvellously androgynous there. you could be his big brother, only i'm sure you'd have tanned people's hides and he'd not have ended up being so miserable.

i hate James Potter and his cronies, deeply and passionately, for that scene with poor Severus where they were tormenting him. i cannot quite express how deeply that cut. i was about 13 when four athletic, popular boys from my class held me upside down over a railing about 4 stories up and talked about whether or not to drop me, because i was so annoying (read: completely, mousily quiet and anxious and too smart) that they wanted to kill me.

I know. I'm surprised I'm as started by it as I am, since it makes sense both with what we know about the character and the general tropes of unlikeable men in fantasy literature in particular. That said, I'm incredibly started by it. That said, now I just need to find a fannish person to cut my hair for PR, because that photo is really the best reference I think we've ever had for Snape's hair in that regard. I also have to decide how far I want to take this, because if I pluck my eyebrows more than I tend to, I'd be dead on. Heh.

I was walking by a party supply booth yesterday and caught the trail end of the new HP trailer.

In particular, Harry saying, "I'm not weak!" and Snape spinning around to snap, "Then PROVE it!" The look on his face made me freeze in the middle of the hall. And I thought of you.
