Yale should know better.

As a performer and fencer, I'm entirely aggravated by this.

That made me laugh. I shouldn't, maybe. Wow. What a completely assinine and PRETENTIOUS response. How arrogant and insensitive can one non-governmental organization get? That's just INSANE. I think Yale just jumped the shark.

Yeah aside from everything you and I have just said on it -- it's also entirley irrelevant. Because Cho didn't shoot over 100 rounds because he saw simulated sword combat in Red Noses (of all things!)

What? You mean Yale doesn't influence EVERYTHING? ZOMG.

(I hear it's Harvard that does.)

Man, this is just beyond ridiculous.

After Columbine, my school did the same thing, and we were forced to stage the epic swordfight at the end of our senior play with those big white plastic sabers they used for flag corp. It looked every bit as stupid as you can imagine.
However, this was a high school in the Bible Belt, not freaking Yale. That's just all kinds of gross and disappointing.

Well that's just dumb. Not to mention potentially dangerous. You get used to the balance of one sort of weapon on stage, and replacing it with another requires some alteration.

And this is going to do what exactly? What?

Morons.

Also, Hello Kitty Bandaids FTW!

Talk about C.Y.A. If Yale and VT has a viable policy to identify and get help for disgruntled nutjobs this never would have happened. I found that while attending Pitt, much of its student manual was often thrown out the window and students were merely scolded for often very dangerous behaviors. BTW in Pennsylvania it is still perfectly legal to have a gun in your gun rack on a school campus while you are attending classes unless the individual school has a policy against it.

Over reaction makes administrators feel better.
