it's almost impossible not to pick up a little of that accent when you're down there. it just sorta sneaks up on you.

I'm glad it went well. I briefly saw New Orleans a bit over a year before Katrina and it was odd and interesting then, I have difficulty imagining what it is truly like now. In any case, hearing traces of that exceedingly distinctive accent in your voice is both strange and charming.
