That's not what LJ used to be about. And it's not what the Internet is about. And it depresses me more than I, as someone who has fought so often for my mere right to exist, can say that it seems clear no amount of eloquence or anger on this issue is going to reach you.
Put very well, and the last concern is what gets me. This response completely bypassed what so many posters have been telling them, passionately and eloquently, and instead tried to make everyone feel better by throwing out this donation idea--which, of course, was pioneered by the fandom community ages ago.
