scenes from my job

So I have this part time media analysis gig and because I understand economics stuff I have read a lot of business publications for it that often have ads of the sort most of you probably never see, and aren't you glad? I shall demonstrate below.

Just now I stumbled on one with the headline:

"You better get a cracker 'cause you're gonna want to taste my option spread."

over a picture of a really smarmy looking guy.

My first thought is that if the smarmy guy's white, he's the cracker he claims you need. That probably says more about me than him, however.

But industry publications... [shudder] What would it cost these guys to get a decent copy-editor?
