It's a little weird getting mail from Paramount Studios, but my countersigned contract showed up today, which means a) I can go get myself on IMDB now and b) the check is processing if not already in the mail.

Well, I do believe you just won the Awesomo 4000 award of the day. (South Park reference)

I really should learn more about the television and film industries, considering that's what my boyfriend wants to do. I know he wants to direct, but he's also a damn fine writer and actor. Now if we could just figure out how to get him over here and secure work for him...

Well, he should look at the DGA website and stuff to have an understanding of the whole how one moves up in eligibility for different types of work in the union. The WGA is the writer's resource for the film industry. I don't know if they have any info that would help with foreign worker permissions and so forth though.

Oh god, those are incredible resources! Even if they don't have anything that deal with his specific situation (he wants to move over here to be with me, but needs a work visa), it'll give him plenty of info about how the industry works, how to break in over here, who to contact, and all of that.

If you don't mind, I'd like to pass on your journal to him. (He's [livejournal.com profile] theycallmeboy.) He won't bug you for info, but if there's a post like this one, he may ask some questions. Is that cool?

That's totally fine. I'm pretty familiar with the intricacies of both SAG and the DGA, but less so with the WGA, which is lame of me, so yeah, that's fine.
