This post highlights perhaps the most egregious and expected part of the great LJ/6A drama - which is that it's all pretty much based in that terribly American habit of violence is okay and sex isn't. As someone who spends an inordinate amount of time studying ritualized violence, somehow, this actually irks me more, although explaining why would take more time than I have at a public Internet termie at this hotel.

Thank you! I'm planning to turn the Snape and gender thing into a full-length piece, hopefully for a con, but even if it doesn't get picked up as a paper for Terminus, I'll probably write it up at greater length for something. I took a quick look at your site and am eager to check it out when I get back home and on my own machine.
