Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Sep. 14th, 2007 11:45 pmWe saw Across the Universe tonight, but more importantly, we saw a preview for this.
And OMG it looks amazing. Better than the first one. And someone has finally figured out what to do with Clive Owen. His charisma just jumps off the screen. Both of them really. I feel the obsession in my bones, folks.

"...Look at what they've done to us"
I lay awake all night after I saw that film for the first time, because of him.

Date: 2007-09-15 09:15 am (UTC)Pls forgive me, Owen's an obsession of mine ever since I saw "Croupier" and I think he's been (generally) undersold ever since...

Date: 2007-09-15 02:34 pm (UTC)I think directors have trouble with him because he tendst o have so much more charisma than everyone else on screen, even when he's not supposed to, they can't turn down the dial. He's also not the elicate sort of man we prefer in this country, and I think it puts people off or is what causes the action mvoie thing. And you're right, he's ridiculously smart as an actor. I mean, Closer wasn't near as good as the play, but he devoured that role.
