Jude Law's ability (and seemingly constant choice) to convey vague artisocratic distate and a desperate need to be liked at the same time in nearly all of his roles fascinates me.
Isn't anyone watching Carnivale? Are Brother Justin and Lodz related -- either by plot or blood? I have a lot of other questions/theories too, but I'm not sure anyone's watching.
Watched the big preview show on Battlestar Galatica, which boiled down to "don't hate us because Starbuck's a girl." Yeah, well. That said, the girl has the same speech cadence as the original Starbuck, and that's funny. Also, while Starbuck was definitely my second grade crush, I also wanted to be Starbuck, so aside from being pissy about them fucking with my favourite Sci-Fi show ever - I be envious. Also, I'm really liking the casting and interpretation of Baltar. So maybe it'll be cool... but I'll be on a bus. Le sigh.
Very stressed, but because I am obscenely resourceful, I'm just sort of gritting my teeth and smiling, because something will solve the problem. It always does.
Today's random observation -- the more you know you can do what is necessary, the harder it can be to make that choice.

It's all pretty twisted, and I sure hope they start rerunning beginning with episode one, or do a marathon, or release season one on DVD. Yeah!
I really like it -- there is a Carnivale community on LJ, I looked at it, but didn't join.

Date: 2003-12-04 02:41 pm (UTC)I'm sure that it has something to do with the bear that got into the trenches and comes after Scutter in all the WWII sequences . . . maybe Lodz killed Justin's father and then brought the kids to America once he realized that Justin had special powers but they were too much so Justin made Lodz blind or immortal or something that can be references biblically. Or something.
And dude!! Secretary was on HBO and the guy that plays Lodz is, get this, PLAYING MAGGIE GYLLENHAL'S PRIEST. I would have laughed but I was too scared.
