Okay, this will be the last of today's posting mania, but I just spent HOURS on the phone with New York State because thanks to a clerical error they just issued a warrant for me for taxes I paid that they thought I hadn't.

This has now been resolved (although I won't get the letter confirming that fact for three to four weeks) and my assets (what assets?!!?) are not, in fact, going to be seized, but I'd like those hours of my life back now, thanks.

I knew I was freaked out, but didn't realize how freaked out I was until it was resolved and then I started crying.

Why is it that bursting into tears is such a release of tension? I HATE when I do that. Men don't do that. They hit something instead. Seems a much more logical thing to do sometimes.

Tax people are scary, scary people. I've dealt with the IRS before and it's not an experience I would ever care to repeat.

They were very nice to me, once I was able to make my point clear. I just had to talk to lots of different people and it was pretty alarming, as they kept asking me where I banked before allowing me to explain, like they were just going to take the money I'd already paid from me.

I hit things too, but that's at the beginning of these sorts of dramas usually.
