A young teenager kills herself after her online boyfriend turns on her. But the boyfriend wasn't real; rather he was the product of the parents of a girl the suicide used to be friends with.

karnythia's journal, this has me close to tears because it confirms every terrible thing I've ever thought about childhood, parents and popularity.

Date: 2007-11-12 09:56 pm (UTC)I remember a fair amount of it happening when I was young, but people are a lot more public about it now.
And especially the younger crowd has a great deal of difficulty appreciating each other.
Someone can work very hard and accomplish a lot, but they are nothing if they are not also pretty, and just the right weight and shape.
It's scary.
