George Clooney has dinner at some random reporter's house. Most interesting thing about it to me? The few slight commentaries on power dynamics.

That article irritated me. Clooney was nothing but nice to him and he seemed to feel some need to attribute this to some negative controlling quality. Also, he felt some need to assure us that Clooney is not particularly interesting or handsome. Keep telling yourself that, buddy. The man is brilliant and has made some great contributions to film. Ugh, I wanted to smack him.

The commentary on dynamics is interesting, and cutting a bit close to the bone at my end (says the Most Anxious Hostess In Northern California). Damn. More fodder for rumination.

Meanwhile... I've been trying to resist developing a damfool fangirlcrush on Clooney - mostly because it's just such a bloody stereotypical middle-class 30something thing to do... However, I think my resistance is starting to crumble. *feels foolish*

Indeed. That was quite fascinating and says at least as much about the reporter as about Clooney.

Very interesting.

Also: Clooney = still awesome.

This:

Clooney, not a man of inaction, especially in a moment of crisis like this, stands on my dining-room table, unscrews a panel in the ceiling and, finding nothing, makes me go outside and carry a huge ladder with him up two flights to my garage upstairs—where he climbs into an area I've never dared go, crawling along the beams with a screwdriver between his teeth.

is where it began feeling awesomely like an Onion article.

I'm just glad I'm an interesting enough read that you'll snatch links from me.

I'm easy that way I guess. :)
